General access information 

  • This is an outdoor site with a mix of hard standing and flat grass to navigate. 
  • WVRF will be ramping and laying some trackway in essential places. 
  • Most of the route through the installation will be using the existing Tintern Abbey accessible wheelchair route.
  • Accessible toilet available and located by the visitor centre into the abbey including baby changing facilities.
  • There is paid parking onsite including disabled parking, WVRF will be designating additional disabled parking bays. 
  • Assistance dogs are welcome, as are non assistance dogs . All dogs must be kept on leads at all times. As this installation involves sound some more sensitive dogs may not enjoy the experience. 
  • If you require a relaxed or less crowded experience we suggest you book onto the 6.30pm entrance slot.
  • There will be two assistance tour guides on site available to support audience members with access needs through the site, including sighted guiding for blind and partially sighted guests. The tour guides can also provide an audio description of the art work if required.

Entrance information 

  • There is a long flat track from the car park to the event entrance to the side of the Abbey. You exit the event through the usual entrance which is fully accessible.  
  • This pathway is flat hardstanding but it is not smooth. 
  • Depending on weather conditions there may be some puddles along it. WVRF will try to mitigate against this as much as possible.
  • The entrance will have a track way onto the grass and into the area where the food concessions will be.

On site 

  • There is some limited seating available, including some standard picnic benches.
  • Inside the Abbey Grounds: The abbey is mainly flat and laid to grass with some gravel paths. 
  • One area of the installation is assessed via a modern metal staircase or via a ramp.
  • There will be a water refill station available by the exit.

Off Abbey site 

  • There is a pub serving food opposite the Abbey it has its own car park – booking advised. 
  • There are additional public toilets available in the car park.
