‘Wye: The River At My Window’ Picnic
Join Mike Simmons for the live launch of his album “Wye: The River At My Window”.
“Wye: the river at my window” traces the path of the river as it wends its way from source at Plynlimon down to Chepstow.
First premiered online during the 2020 festival, join Mike to experience the album as he intended: sitting by the river that inspired the music! Bring a deckchair, bring a picnic, bring something to drink and watch the sun go down.
Registration for this event is essential – you can register here.
Location: Leabrink Meadow (see map – location is in red)
Mike Simmons has been writing music for more than 60 years. Originally gaining success as a songwriter, he now composes instrumental music that is a response to the natural environment. It’s music to dream to – warm, textural and atmospheric, using piano, flutes, strings, the human voice and other familiar sounds alongside the less familiar, sounds which can only be produced by electronic instruments. His latest album celebrates the river the he sees each day from his studio window.
