The Streets of Ross

Wye Valley River Festival invite you to join our FREE family-friendly community Jubilee picnic event The Streets Of Ross featuring street theatre, circus and dance from 11am- 5pm

Bring your blanket and picnic and maybe an umbrella just in case! This new event will bring bouncing kangaroos (on stilts), puppet shows, circus performance, a cycling piano duo and lots of funny and intriguing street theatre.

There will be a colourful parade around the church yard at 12 noon involving performers and new carnival costumes and puppets made with local young people.  There will also be quirky outdoor performances and circus roaming around town with the main event happening in the gardens of St Marys Church and The Prospect.

Please walk, cycle or take public transport into town as parking will be very limited.

Artists and performers include:

Roo’d kangaroos on stilts!

Qwerin – Welsh folk dance… with a twist. Shows at 1.30pm and 4pm.

Rimski Bicycle Piano – a pedal-powered busking extravaganza

Acrojou – All At Sea – a lone boatman, caught in his own personal storm, at 12 noon.

Ashley Peevor’s Grass Men  – costumes made from living grass, exploring the boundary between humans and nature

The Bikesplorers our very own bicycling festival ensemble

Wod Wos band – our long-standing, hard-blowing festival trio!

A Bird in the Hand Theatre – Special Delivery – a show about the delights of the unexpected.
