Alchemy and Artistry – Tintern Abbey Fire Garden!

Gweld yn Gymraeg

Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd October 2022

6pm – 10.30pm

A magical evening of fire, flame, and gentle music in the grounds of the iconic Tintern Abbey

Spend time delighting in the Abbey Grounds illuminated with a thousand flickering candles and sculptures by fire specialists Pa-Boom. There will be live atmospheric music, and delicious and warming autumnal treats on site from local independent suppliers offering spiced winter warmers and hot chocolate.

Doors open at 6pm. Last entry 9pm. Families/groups welcome.

*UPDATE* This event is now SOLD OUT! We are sorry but there will not be any tickets available for sale on the door.

*WEATHER* – we’ve checked the weather forecast and it is looking like there will be a bit patchy rain both evenings, but we are going ahead, so please join us. If that changes, all ticket holders will be contacted.

“ An enchanting, evocative and enlivening experience…”

Pa-Boom are alchemists and artists, specialists in creating fire drawings, stunning sculptural bonfires, enchanting flame filled installations and unforgettable pyrotechnic displays.

WVRF has worked with Dave Chadwick’s Pa-Boom for a number of years – who remembers the amazing stag’s head and pyro display that closed the 2018 festival? This is very likely to be the last performance they will ever do in the Valley – or anywhere. Beyond the flaming beacons, retirement beckons… So don’t miss this opportunity to see Tintern Abbey as never before – a magical night of fire, flame and music in a spectacular setting. We are delighted to be presenting this work in partnership with Cadw.

Food and Drink available

Severn Cider, award winning artisan cider and perry makers, will be serving mulled cider and many other tasty tipples from their trailer bar. And if you’re feeling peckish, they’ll also be serving up delicious hot dogs too.
Serving up some culinary treats from their Vintage Mobile Creperie will be Isabel’s Bakehouse. Using local ingredients they provide a delicious array of sweet and savoury crepes. Perfect for an autumnal evening!

Event Information:

  • You buy a timed entry ticket, but once you are inside you are welcome to stay for the rest of the evening. Please arrive at the correct time!
  • Please note that at 6pm it will be twilight rather than fully dark – the light will change throughout the evening.
  • Please dress appropriately for the weather because the entire site is outside and there is limited shelter.
  • The site is accessible, but it will be dark (except for the candles!) and there are some uneven sections, so please take care when traversing the site, and ask an usher for assistance if necessary.
  • There are toilets available in the Visitor Centre, including an accessible toilet. There are also public toilets available in the car park before entering the site.
  • There will be light refreshments available to buy but NO meals, so please plan accordingly.
  • There will be live flames, so if you are bringing small children, please make sure they are appropriately supervised.
  • There are no disabled or OAP concessions. However, disabled ticket holders are welcome to bring one carer or companion for free, simply book them a Disability Companion ticket when making your booking.
  • For full details of the Tintern Abbey site, including details of the facilities, please visit the Cadw website.

Alcemeg a Chelfyddyd – Gardd Dân Abaty Tyndyrn!

Dydd Gwener 21 a dydd Sadwrn 22 Hydref 2022

6pm – 10.30pm

Noswaith hudolus o dân, fflamau a cherddoriaeth fwyn ar diroedd Abaty Tyndyrn eiconig

Treuliwch amser yn mwynhau tiroedd yr Abaty wedi’u goleuo gan fil o ganhwyllau’n dawnsio a cherfluniau gan arbenigwyr tân Pa-Boom. Bydd cerddoriaeth fyw llawn awyrgylch a danteithion hydrefol blasus a chynnes ar y safle gan gyflenwyr annibynnol lleol, a fydd yn cynnig diodydd cynnes sbeislyd a siocled poeth.

Drysau’n agor am 6pm. Mynediad olaf am 9pm. Mae croeso i deuluoedd / grwpiau.

Mae tocynnau ar gael yma.

“Profiad hudolus ac atgofus sy’n bywiogi…”

Mae Pa-Boom yn alcemyddion ac artistiaid, yn arbenigwyr mewn creu darluniau tân, coelcerthi cerfluniol cain, gweithiau hudolus llawn fflamau ac arddangosiadau tân gwyllt bythgofiadwy.

Mae Gŵyl Afon Dyffryn Gwy wedi gweithio gyda Pa-Boom Dave Chadwick ers nifer o flynyddoedd – pwy sy’n cofio’r pen hydd anhygoel a’r arddangosfa tân gwyllt a gaeodd yr ŵyl yn 2018? Mae’n debygol iawn mai hwn fydd ei berfformiad olaf yn y Dyffryn – neu yn unrhyw le. Tu hwnt i fflamau’r ffaglau, mae ymddeoliad ar y gweill… Felly peidiwch â methu’r cyfle hwn i weld Abaty Tyndyrn ar wedd newydd – noson hudolus o dân, fflamau a cherddoriaeth mewn lleoliad ysblennydd. Mae’n bleser gennym gyflwyno’r gwaith hwn mewn partneriaeth â Cadw.

Gwybodaeth am y digwyddiad:

  • Byddwch yn prynu tocyn â mynediad wedi’i amseru. Unwaith y byddwch chi ar y safle, mae croeso ichi aros am weddill y noson.
  • Cofiwch y bydd hi’n nosi am 6pm yn hytrach nag yn hollol dywyll – bydd y golau’n newid drwy gydol y noson.
  • Dylech wisgo dillad addas i’r tywydd. Mae’r safle cyfan tu allan a does dim llawer o gysgod.
  • Mae’r safle’n hygyrch, ond mi fydd yn dywyll (heblaw am y canhwyllau!) ac mae darnau ohono’n anwastad. Dylech fod yn ofalus wrth symud o amgylch y safle, a gofyn i dywysydd am gymorth os bydd angen.
  • Mae toiledau ar gael yn y Ganolfan Ymwelwyr, gan gynnwys toiled hygyrch. Mae toiledau cyhoeddus yn y maes parcio cyn mynd i’r safle hefyd.
  • Bydd lluniaeth ysgafn ar gael i’w brynu ond DIM prydau bwyd. Dylech gynllunio ymlaen llaw yn unol â hyn.
  • Bydd fflamau byw ar y safle. Os ydych chi’n dod â phlant bach, dylech sicrhau eu bod yn cael eu goruchwylio’n briodol.
  • I gael manylion llawn am safle Abaty Tyndyrn, gan gynnwys manylion y cyfleusterau, ewch i wefan Cadw.
